Ervins was actively involved in helping Anna with her craft. As Anna's 'silent partner', he used his engineering skills to draw plans of Anna's loom at Memmingen Displaced Persons Camp in Germany. Ervins also designed and built an unplying machine and other weaving devices used by Anna.
