About the organisation
The Granya Primary School celebrated its Centenary in 1980, by 1994 though, insufficient pupil numbers saw the School closed down. Members of the community began using the School building and as a way of preserving their heritage, the community researched “And here's to Wallaby Jack” A Social History of Granya, written by Roger Burns and first published in 1997. The Granya Pioneer Museum began shortly after and was opened in 1998 with donations from many local families which now form part of the collection.
